Our Commitment to the Parkinson’s Community
Every six minutes marks a new Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in the U.S.* Our commitment to the Parkinson’s community isn’t just focused on treatments; it’s about supporting patients in their journey to reclaim their identity and connections lost to Parkinson’s.
We also aim to foster hope, broaden understanding, and nurture a supportive community that includes healthcare professionals, advocacy groups, individuals living with Parkinson’s, and their caregivers and families.
This Parkinson’s Awareness Month (April), we’re taking meaningful actions to support this resilient community:
- We donated a total of $1.5 million to multiple patient assistance foundations that support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
- We hosted a Lunch & Learn for our U.S. employees with Dr. Torres-Yaghi, MD, and Dr. Pagan, MD, two respected Movement Disorder Specialists from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital who shared valuable insights into Parkinson’s disease. They were joined by Anna Grill, the founder of Young Onset Parkinson’s Network (YOPN) who lives with PD, who shared insight into her treatment journey.
- Recognized Spark the Night; an initiative to shed light on the often-hidden challenges faced by individuals living with Parkinson’s disease—especially at night, when feelings of isolation, anxiety, and loneliness can feel most overwhelming.
- Members of our Specialty field team visited our Brookhaven, NY Facility to see the manufacturing of one of our Parkinson’s products.
We aim to empower, educate, and bring hope to the community. To learn more about resources check out our Thrive Newsletter here (Opens in a new tab).
